Hi there

I m on the civi comminty for my formor ATC sqn of which I was a cdt at back in my *youth* anyways, they are in need of a need flight sim rig as thier own well you don't really wanna know :D

anyways budget is tight and I m trying to do it with £700 they have everything so its only the base unit. I will be overclocking and unlocking. althrough this build may not take shape for a good few months due to grants and what not and I have to get the funds released first. ( the cheaper it is the easier it will be)

here is my specs

yeah I could go up to £700 and I said it would, but I would perfer not as it will be easier for me to get the money released to me.

I m only using this as a referance as it would be go with the cheapest for that particaulair component (trustworthy retilier like OCuk :p)

god damm it my spelling is very bad today

Well the performance between the two builds is identical, just my case and psu choice is cheaper and more than enough.

Stulid build looks good. Remember fsx is an awfully coded sim and runs best (well better) on highly clocked Intel CPUs. The i5 2500k fits the bill perfectly. Also worth getting a second hdd dedicated to fsx and nothing else. That cooler should help to overclock to 4.0ghz at least fairly easily, but may be worth getting a slightly better on if your really looking to push it to 4.5+. Should stick with a nvidia card as they are better generally with fsx (although worth shopping around).

Be sure to read the guide by nickn about how to install and optimise fsx for best performance and the fsx thread in pc games has some useful advice too. Sorry on phone so can't to link it.
