ok.. so i installed flight sim x no problem on my old pc... i didnt play online, but i cant remember if i registered it...

ive come to install it on my new pc and i cant...

i put the disk in, and it spins up as if its doing something, but the light on the drive goes out, and it stops

it comes up as UDF volume with just one icon which is like a notepad with a gold gear on it...

it waont install.. anyone got any ideas?? or is it a case of return it as faulty?

You either need to update your DVD drives firmware or get a new DVD drive! It's quite a common occurrence with Microsoft's latest rushed out and un-finished release.

ok... so ive been trying some more, and the first disk will go ok on both my drives

samsung cdrw/dvd combo and new dvd writer

but.. when it ask for the 2nd disc, i put it in and it just keeps asking me for it...
edit: bit more info... when i put the 2nd disc in, it comes up very briefly with a box that says dvdchecker or something similar... then it wont accept me pressing ok...

just now, i went into run to see what the disk was showing and the pc crashed... it did the same yesterday too...

I Had this problem and couldnt believe waht was causing it!

Its Nero....or any other copying software you have installed. I rang Microsoft, uninstalled Nero etc, and it installed without a problem. The install checks for copying software before starting the discs. Unbelievable
