Hey up,

Gonna be annoying now,

Can you list what settings you used to get it looking like that?

Also what graphics card you using lol.

I have a x1900xtx and c2d at 3.2ghz and havent been able to reach a nice compromise on speed and quality yet, only played around abit with it though.

Looking Good.

Cheers

Woooahhhhh!!!

Did i hear you right lol FS9????

nice one, will install it now lol didnt know it could look this good, have just been playing with fs10,

My rig can run fs9 with its eyes closed, just like my co-pilot when i come into land lol.

nice one, can probably find most of those add-ons on flightsim.com

cheers dude

On my computer FS9 leaves FSX far behind, in fact I uninstalled FSX the other day. Its time will come Im sure. Once the thrid-party developers really get going its going to look fantastic. But at this time it does not do it for me. FS9 with all the addons looks wicked...and what you see in these screenshots is just free stuff :)

BTW I put a screenshot of the in-game settings.

I have always fancied playing FS, but the amount of keys you need to learn really puts me off...is it really fun to use or is it a bit like going to work? ;)

It depends on what kinda games u like I guess! Unlike other titles flight sim is a sandbox - no missions, no enemies, no points , no medals. You just fly around where you want in whatever plane you want. Its as easy or as hard as you wanna make it!

To use it casually you basically just need to know these commands:

F1 to F4 = engine power
F5 to F8 = flaps up/down
G = wheels up/down

Thats it. Well easy to pick what airport u wanna fly from etc.

On the other side of the scale you can download freeware and payware enhancements that totally transform the simulation. In fact it has reached such a high level now that its as real as it gets to simulating airline flight on a home computer.

might have to grab a copy then, maybe when it comes down a little in price, thanks for the info :)

didn't realise it was that cheap! Last time I looked it was £30+

FS2004s sequel FSX was released recently and so the old games price has dropped :)

In a short while you will probably find it in the bargain bin at the supermarket! If you dont play flight sim games a lot this might be the better option as opposed to buying FSX Deluxe Edition which is about £43.

are these games any good then?

because i always see them and think that they might be pants.

what do you do? what is there to do? online updates? online multiplayer lol?

can someone explain the point of these games and whats so good about them?

thankies, ags

Hee hee that is the million-dollar question when it comes to this genre of PC gaming.

People who enjoy flight sims are generally aviation-geeks :D. They also tend to like more realistic games. So they would rather fly a FedEx cargo jet from Alaska to Japan instead of blatting away at aliens with phaser-cannons ;)

That does'nt mean all simmers are boring lol..I got F.E.A.R, Fra Cry, Oblivion, Black Hawk Down, GTA San Andreas for example.

It is not everyones cup of tea. The lack of a reward system in FS9 baffles many but if you are a avgeek then its all good

Ahh nice one, played around with FSX loads today, averaging pretty much anything between 5-15 fps in all extremes of graphics! So Im back to the lovely and smooth FS2004 with everything maxxed out, flying my fav add-on planes (PMDG & PSS baby!), with great weather and awesome textures!

FSX has been uninstalled until Summer 2008!

My Specs:
AMD X2 4800+
Asus A8N-SLI del
3 GB DDR PC 4000 RAM 2-2-5-2
RAID 0 Raptors
Ati X1900XT 512MB

Attempting to play FSX @ 1680x1050 = medium settings = nono at the moment!

He's probably thinking "What am I doing working as a gate attendant, when at 12 foot tall, I could be raking millions in the WWF"
