Hey guys

Can anyone reccomend a Joystick? Or even a Yoke

I've gone through about five and every time after about 5 months the calibration on them ends up going crazy... why on earth is this?

Is there any reccomendation to a decent joystick that will actually work as it should, without having to fight it to stay on the runway.

Would also help to know what aircarft you prefer to fly.

I use a Saitek X52 and have no problems with it, I do however prefer to fly light GA aircraft so a Yoke would probably be better as far as realism goes.
 
Am using an old microsoft force feedback 2 joystick for flight sims..

This is usually a sign that the pots (sensors) inside the stick are dirty. Dirt gets on the electrical contacts, causing spikes in the signal to the computer. Opening the joystick and a good spray with switch cleaner on the pots should do the trick.

I use a Saitek Cyborg X - never found this stick to be a problem, I'm not a really big 'sim' person though so it does me to do all the flying that I want to, but wouldn't give you the experience feel of a 747 etc. No force feedback either which suits me but again removes from the sim aspect.
 
X52 Pro and a Cougar here, 52pro for general flying, the Cougar for combat flying, also the Saitek pedals. All 3 items are pretty simple to open up and give the pots and sensors a good clean i generally do mine every month or so, you would surprised how dirty they get.
 
Got an X52 Pro myself and it seems pretty good so far.

Works well for FSX as well as Lock On and HAWX.

Although I am not sure the Pro is worth the extra money over the standard X52.
 
Nice setup dude. Perhaps you need to work on a custom table/mount for all that gear and get it tidied up a bit though. Impressive non the less.

Sure it wouldn't have been easier just becoming a pilot?!! :p

@OP I'm using a Saitek Cyborg 3D (I think that's right). Good quality and has lasted me years. They're also fairly straightforward to replace bits in.
 
I use a CH Products yoke and an old Microsoft Sidewinder. Pity they don't make the latter anymore. I think the newer Saitek yokes are meant to be better. Couple them with the Pro pedals and you have a nice setup.
