Flight Simulator X Acceleration

Got it yesterday online for $45 via direct download. Couldn't wait until Nov 2nd. Some nice new themes, adding weather effects soon with an update.

I've got Ultimate Terrain X US and Canada as well as Scotsflight (Highlands and Islands). Still looking for some decent scenery packs for the rest of Europe.

No SP2 yet.

What ever happened to the Directx 10 update for FSX is what I want to know.

From everything I read, way back when, this was supposed to be one of the first games to use DX10, and they still have not delivered...

The acceleration pack.

Expansion packs are very rarely worth the £ per GB of content, unfortunately, and there was only a limited number of things MS were willing to do with it. The 3 extra aircraft are good, there are more higher detailed locations, more missions, and it includes SP2 for FSX, the media, thus far, seem to like it.

The price is a small price to pay for a program that has no finish, unlike most games that have an objective and an actual end.

anyone any links to the dx10 patch?
you may find this interesting....

You're deadly serious aren't you?
Arrr.... those screenies make it look... the same.

The subtlety of DX10 preview is too little to capture in screenshots, and seen as it is just a preview, we didn't expect wonders with it, especially as the FS engine is pretty archaic. The DX10 art shots before the release, looked way too good, imho, and seen as DX10 hasn't really taken off yet (ba boom tish), I knew the changes wouldn't be as drastic as they showed.

Yes, but were fraps enabled, you would see they are not the same. The DX10 stuff would be getting lower FPS
Tis true, but if you have powerful enough rig, you won't necessarily see the difference. Think of it like Crysis, where you don't need 60fps, FS (as a series) has never (needed to) run at more than 30~.
This is interesting.

I agree with that, and there is always ways to expand FSX, I have recently purchased both GEX and UTX USA, each more than worth of their price tag, which is very good atm, with the current £->$ rate.
