Been playing a bit of flight simulator X over the weekend and noticed that on my amd 64 x2 4400+ one core is at 100% utilization while the other is sitting there idle.....

Anyone know of any tweaks to get it using both cores?

on an E6600 I get 20-40% on the second and the first pretty much maxed out at 100%.
Dips on the first align with the 40% peaks on the second - looks like thread waits.

Lame......i thaught a game this new would be dual core aware.....

I'm getting 100% useage on core 0 and 4% usage on core 1.....

Its not a GPU limited game in the slightest, never has been. Note the amount of people that mention how cool their cards are when running FSX, also try reducing GPU limiting features like resolution and you'll notice no difference. Running it on my old 7900SLI setup there was no change in frame rate from the default of 800x600 to 2560x1600, absolutely none.

The glare option + the autogen have the greatest effect on performance and my 2 8800GTX's give me no better fps at the same settings I'm afraid, given how much more powerful these are than the SLI 7900's I had before, if it was GPU limited you'd see a change.

Juiceman is correct...its not GPU limited at all. ACES have made a mess of this game. No Dualcore support - with none intended even with Vista, as apparently its too hard for MS to code for multi-cores

And just to put a bigger smile on your face, no SLI/crossfire support either (not that it would help seeing how CPU intensive this game is!).

Basically WYSIWYG - it wont get any better, even in 5 years time, like all the other MSFS series have, because computer CPUs are no longer getting faster, we are just bolting more than one of them on to do the same job twice as fast.

Enjoy 10-20 fps until FSXI - rrp £200 (if Vista prices are anything to go by) :(
