Flight Simulators in VR

Are there any good Flight Simulators for VR?

I'm a bit confused, as I thought VR would be an excellent fit for flight sims and the cockpit experience - but nothing seems to have developed.

There's a few Space Sims (Elite Dangerous being an excellent example) but flight sims just don't seem to be out there.

I've been looking for a gliding/soarer sim, which I accept is pretty niche. But there doesn't seem to be much stuff re flight sims and VR in general.

Am I missing something?

But it seems to point to lots of add-ons/mods etc. rather than a core flight sim.

I was trying to think of a stand out flight sim that gets discussed on here. Space sims have Elite Dangerous. Racing sims have Project Cars, Assetto Corsa etc. They are all 'cockpit games' which demonstrate VR.

But flight sims are just not mentioned, which seems a shame as VR is perfect for them.

I'll check out Aerofly though.

Aerofly FS2 seems to be the one to go for then. A wide selection of planes (including a Schleicher glider!) and good support for VR.

Now that looks cool. Basically the opposite of the glider sim I was looking for, but reminds me of one of my favourite games "Slipstream 5000".

Something like 'slipstream 5000' or 'F-Zero GX' would be excellent in VR.

Check out Vector 36, Thick Air, and something coming, Ultrawings, which matches up to the glider sim you're after.
