Flight transfer question

Hi all

First multi leg flight I've done since 2017, so I'd appreciate some help.

On Wednesday we're flying to Bali from Heathrow via Kuala Lumpur. It's now within 48hrs of the flight, so I duly checked us in online and printed our boarding passes.

However I was only asked to check in for the first leg of our journey, and I've only been given the option to print boarding passes for the first leg.

The entire flight both ways is booked via Malaysian Airlines.

Am I right in assuming that the airline will print our boarding passes for the next leg of our journey when we arrive at Heathrow to check in our luggage on Wednesday?

Or do I need to wait until we're within 48 hours of the second leg of our journey and then print boarding passes for that too?

Any help much appreciated.

No need to worry about connecting flights. The airline will sort it out when you check in. “In most cases, you'll receive your boarding pass for your connecting flight already when you check in for your first flight. This means you don't have to check in again for your next flight. If you haven't received it, you can go to the transfer desk or kiosk of the airline you're flying with to collect it.”

Brilliant, thanks for the response and reassurance!

Assuming you have a smart phone why not opt for a digital boarding pass, that way you don't need to worry about printing them.

Regardless of the format I'll need the boarding pass, and at the moment when managing the flight I only have the option to download the 1st leg of the journey.

Having said that I do actually like a paper one next to my passport in my pocket:)
