Ok so I have googled for a while, trying to find the name of (in order to buy one) of the hinge mechanism you find on the front of AV amps and the like of the flip-down type panel.

The type you press at the top and it smoothly lowers outwards and down, or the type you press at the bottom and they open upwards and into the case, can;t for the life of me find them online, any help please?

do you mean this ?

Nope, on the front of AV amps, they usually have a flip down panel revealing controls, and the panels itself is on some sort of mechanism which is the bit I want, not a fan controller or anything, the actual hinge mechanism that allows the panel to smoothly open

Its for a case, to hide a control panel im going to make, its going to be recessed into the front bezel of the case, with toggle switches, so thought this would be a good idea.

Might have to go buy something from a scrappy, as e39 5 series have them on oem radios for advanced controls, you push and the panel slides up.
Or an amp from a charity shop, as they have advanced controls hidden behind them, usually push and they flip down and cannibalise it

that bezel there ... will that fit any case / dvd drive ?

sorry to hijack ... just been looking for something like that

Not sure - I don't have one myself. Different case manufacturers have different ways of fixing the bezels, but it would be the right size to fit any dvd drive bay, so you might be able to make it work.

They are designed to fit on Lian-Li cases, so I'm not sure they'll fit just anything. They screw on to the front of the case, underneath the removable facia. Lian-Li cases have holes drilled there ready to take them, but you may be able to drill your own if your case has a similar design.

PK!
