I'm currently running a windows machine as a floating licence server for some Leica software.

I have a CentOS server which does everything else from BackupPC to FTP and I really would like to run the licence server on the main server to reduce power usage etc.

The software seems to only come in an M$ flavour but I wanted to know if anyone had any experience in overcoming this. I am going to try running the software under some form of M$ emulation but just wanted to check with people here first.

Thanks

You could try running the software under 'wine' or if necessary set up vmware and run the windows machine in a virtual machine. You could even P2V the windows machine and turn it into a virtual image very easily.

I would try wine first as the licence server may be very easy to set up.
