I have a 1500mm oak shelf to fit in the kitchen using resin & rebar into a brick wall. The shelf supplier sent me the rebar but no resin, and unhelpful you no instructions.

Can anyone recommend what sort of resin to use and a quick how-to for fitting?

Thanks

When I put up our mantle I drilled in to the chimney breast and the brick crumbled, I used Tetrion powerfill to plug the gap. It sets in about 15 minutes although i left it over night to be doubly-sure and you can sand it. They say its harder than concrete, I have no idea how accurate that is but so far the mantle which is about 20-30kg hasn't budged.
To save myself drilling in to the filler I put it in to the hole and pushed the rawl plug in to the wet filler and screwed in the support then let it dry, slid not the mantle and it was done.

I picked up some Fischer F-Bond from Screwfix and a 14mm masonry bit. Was dead easy to use and had set rock solid in about 30mins. Job done

To explain some of the mess in the pic: There are 6 courses of tiles (bottom course to be fitted once the worktop finally leveled) but we decided the shelf would be too high set above the top course, so I had to remove some tiles. Newspaper on the wall is keeping the dust off a bookcase recessed into that wall.
