Hi guys,

Dad and I took the dingy out on the river today and as the classics are coming down this way for Falmouth Week I thought it would be a great oppotunity to get some more practice with the camera :) as we were moving around a lot I had to use auto focus for all of these. All taken with D50 and kit lens 18-55mm

Here are a few of my faves:

Bowsprits

A bit abstract but I like the composition, shame it's not perfectly focused.

Rigging

Look at all that string!!!

Boat 21

These guys were loving the attention! got spray on the lens shortly after this shot and so all of the rest of the shots of this boat had to be ditched.

Ferry

Life on the river Fowey.

Water Taxi

And again.

Sunset

Saying good bye to the sun a little further up river.

Cheers guys, let me know what you think. Any comments are better than no comments so if you can see a shot that needs improving let me know what I've done wrong :)

Cheers guys :)

I've got a CP filter but didn't attach it for those shots. As you say it interferes with the focus on the kit lens for the D50. It's Fowey regatta in a couple of weeks and I intend to take a lot more photos of boats to try out my new Sigma 70-300 curtesy of Bigred :)

It doesn't stop it focusing, but it is a pain to get a shot focused and then adjust the filter only to knock the lens out of focus again.

Thanks for the feedback :)
