Flooding today !

I would call that more of a big puddle than flooding.

But then I would considering some of the proper flooding the north east has had this year.

Drove through water at a similar depth, if not slightly deeper than that, on the way to work a few times this morning. Conveniently all of the deeper water seemed to be on my side of the road and I had to use the other side of an A-Road at one point to get around it.

All dried up and back to normal on the way home though.

Meh they are used to it, it's areas that rarely see flooding thats a shocker.. It would be like Africa having rain :p

Is it just me, or does the YouTube video say "Floods in East Kent 26th Sept 2012", that is in the future right ??

Drove to Wales and back today, rivers looked angry and a lot of fields between Monmouth and Newport looked more than a little damp.

ooops good spot, meh probably cause it's my bday on the 26th :D

Happy birthday for the 26th :D

Thing that confuses me, we have had two days of rain, is it the sheer amount of rain in them two days that has caused all this flooding ?

You would like to think that the council can keep on top of this kind of thing, or is that me being short-sighted, not something that is covered in council tax ?

2 days of rain is quite an incredible amount of water..

Drainage systems are designed to cope up to a certain level of storm I.e. 1 in 25years etc. Once you get a storm of that magnitude or a longer peak they can't cope as its impractical to design systems that can handle every type of storm.

That's not flooding. Certainly not news worthy. It's just a large puddle. Now, flooding is what I had to go through on my way to work today where cars were literally abandoned and started floating near ledbury
