Went to the Somerset Levels today, to see some of the flooding across the West Sedgemoor RSPB reserve. Its the second year we've seen it like this, though this year the level is even higher. The water loving birds seemed very happy, with vast flocks coming and going.

The atmosphere there was wonderful, with barely any wind and a very mellow, wintery light. The stillness made for some nice reflections, and odd effects.

I like to convert to B&W and these are a quick process on a few... just for fun... some are a little rough, but that's fine... I may look at them again sometime..

There are certainly some great photo opportunities in Somerset atm, if you can get there.

interesting!
I like the abstract nature of #2 and #5. As a 'normal' shot I think #1 is the best with the mix of foreground and background

Thanks Zogger. I do like finding more abstract images.

Last year the willow beds were full, but also flooded when I took these. I love the affect of the reflection and dof, and the strange way the ripples come to the front in the second shot. They may not have much general appeal, but I like less obvious images.
