Floor standing speakers close to walls

every make will have different characteristics

some dont mind being near walls (and actually like it)

others may not..

need to experiment

In corners is generally the no no... As it loads the room too much and the sound gets way to much boundary reinforcement effect. Sealed box designs need normally to flat against a back wall.... If they are ported try stuffing the port with a lump of thick foam.

Certainly with speakers I've had in the past that were ported, they've sounded terrible in corners/against the wall. Even with my current speakers (Linn Keilidh) that are of a sealed box design, they don't sound great if they're in a corner or close to the wall. With both types of speaker I've found there is almost like a second wave of bass as it presumably echo's.
