For some reason my floppy drive stopped working. I needed to fix another problem on my PC, so i went out and bought a new drive + cable.
It still doesn't work. The disks are ok, because they work on another PC, but whenever i put the disks in my PC it tells me the disks are not formatted. If i try to format it, i get a popup saying there is no disk in drive A.
I've tried the cable both way rounds. On the mobo end there is only one orientation i can put the cable in. At the drive end the cable fits both way rounds, and i've tried both. If i plug the cable in with the redline (pin 1) on the wrong side it obviously can't read the drive, but still tells me the disk needs formatting. If the red line is on the right side it tries to read the drive but says the disk needs formatting.
Anyone got any ideas.
p.s. i managed to get around the need for a floppy disk by slipstreaming my WinXP CD with the Silicon drivers i needed, but i'd still like to know how to fix my floppy drive.
p.p.s. this is on a NF7-S rev. 2 board if that makes any difference
