Probably a really dumb question, but I don't really use floppy drives, I bought an akasa rounded cable and the sony one on the site, the floppy cable actually has a power lead that comes off it with a molex connection on the end of it.

Is this required to power the drive? I thought it might be powered from the mobo because presumably it would not require much power and its connection is bloody huge. If this is the case I don't want to do a sata mistake and plug a molex connector into something that already has power...

Sorry I know I'm king dumb for this one!

You should have a floppy connector on your PSU or it will be supplied in a bag to attach if needed.

Your motherboard should have a connection to plug the Akasa rounded cable in and then into the floppy drive also.
