Floppy drive still showing

Not sure why, but my floppy drive is still being shown in My Computer in Windows Vista even though I've unplugged it and taken it from my PC.

Anyone got any ideas why or how I can remove the icon?

Did you disable it in your BIOS? AFAIK there's no auto detection for floppies so windows just goes by what the BIOS tells it.

As above, disable the floppy controller in your Bios

Should get rid of it in the O/S then.

disable it in the bios

in the standard screen it's usually there
