So.. basically a few lads from work want to do 2weeks in Florida for Spring Break.
Anyone ever been before or have any knowledge on it?
We're looking at villas and we want a decent one for the 4 of us, pool and what not, so we can drag girls back with us!

Just wondering where anyone else would stay as we're looking at "rent disney villa" website, one of the lads claims the disney village has clubs and a decent nightlife?!?!

to be honest i havnt got a clue whats good as iv never been to the US before, i just want to go party by the beaches and what not, we're 22-28 so all good for bars, we're not too fussed for hitting big clubs or anything, just find the students and what not ;)

Miami might be a bit crazy over Spring Break, it will also be expensive, but it will be full of students.

Cant imagine it being tooooo bad to be honest, its just a holiday after all.
Looking at villas they are expensive but you really get something s****y for your money.
We'll be raiding walmart for loads of booze :)

Rent somewhere north Kissimee area, that will be close to the parks etc,
Disney Downtown has some cool bars/clubs although a bit tame (as some are 18+ not 21+) Universal has something similar which is cool.
Take a trip for a few days up to Daytona - this is where ALL the students and college kids go.
We did this a few years ago and had an awesome time :)

for spring break i wouldn't stay on disney property or that nearby - i would stay on coco beach if you want to be relatively near orlando (that way you are within an hour of the parks if you want to do that but you have the bars, beach and spring break shenanigans rather than sanitised disney atmosphere).

Your friend is thinking of Disney's Pleasure Island which was a cluster of bars and clubs at Disney Village. All the clubs on the Island closed in 2008 and it has been reworked as more family friendly (restaurants and shops) - not at all spring break.

I really wouldn't stay in Orlando for spring break. You could do two bases like staying in coco or Daytona for a few days to do spring break then staying around I-drive or somewhere to do the parks and tourist stuff.

For even more spring breakesque experiences you could try miami or the keyes as one base (all easy driving).

I lived in Orlando for a couple of years and was a student there. I am a consultant to the theme park industry so spend a lot of time there now too.

we really dont care about having time away for the parks etc, i think we were just going to go to universal for a day or something.
Daytona sounds like its becoming less and less popular on all the student advice websites for 2010 spring break, Miami is slightly cheaper according to them.
I think we'll have to shift focus onto Miami. Is there any areas imparticular to look for villas, im not sure if anyones mentioned any... Iv never been so nothing rings a bell :)
