The Barrow OLED flow meters are not only stupidly expensive but they are prone to failure as well. They must be kept at a constant 12v so if powering from a header on the motherboard you must set the header to deliver full power in the bios. Mine was powered directly from the psu yet it still failed just outside of warranty. Luckily I didn't pay anywhere near that price so it wasn't as much of a loss as it could have been if I had paid full price. There are many tales on the internet of failures of these things and they are just not worth the money.

The impellor type (1st link) can get noisy over time so I would probably avoid those as well.

As long as you can see plenty of movement in your reservoir you should have good flow and you don't need a flow monitor to tell you that. I would say water temp sensors are more important than flow sensors and you can buy decent ones of those for less than a fiver.

If you really want to monitor flow and other things do it properly with a Aquaero and relevent sensors.

Thanks for the heads up on the flow meter. Unfortunately I have already ordered one and it is delivered tomorrow. The Aquaero setup is more costly but if this unit fails I will give it consideration. Thanks.
