It's a tradition in our culture, tbh I don't see the point of it apart from putting the ring on her finger which will be awesome!

I see, which culture is it out of interest? Does this mean you propose to her, then only put the ring on later with her family present? Did you have to get her father's permission?

This culture:

The way it works is we met and got to know each other. Once we felt we were compatible we told our parents. We went to their house for intros, then they came to ours. The parents then say "yes we approve of your son/daughter for our son/daughter'. Now were at the part of the Engagement party.

Hopefully your soon-to-be wife and extended family are as equally as relaxed about this tradition as you are!

I'm out and good luck.

Yes but are those flowers I linked to nice? I know nothing about flowers

A GD female here (yes women on the internet!)

Those flowers are beautiful although I personally would not want lilies in any part of my wedding, as I will always think of them as a funeral flower.

I would go with orchids or roses personally :)

I hope you have a lovely night!

Edit: like these http://www.serenataflowers.com/product.asp?prod=722&refpage=Category:99&position=pos22

Thanks for your advice! Didn't think about the lilies..hmmm.. which one of these would you go for?

The second ones look nice although there's more green in there for my liking. I suppose it's all personal preference. The idea behind the orchids is great but they don't look substantial, I always had an idea I'd walk in with a massive display of flowers in a basket lol

The theme will be purple, blue and green. My budget it up to £70. I've already got her the Luxury pink one before lol So you think my first choice are OK?

Hmmm it's between the Purple Moon and Love Letter. I'd be getting the Grandissimo size Love Letter flowers so it's a difference of £10.... decisions decisions!
