Floyd Mayweather v's Zab Judah

As per normal, it's not being shown live on Sky and I can't see when they might be showing it, typical of boxing coverage in this country, a huge fight like that and we can't get too see it live.

i thought it might have been shown on box office, guess they dont think it is a big fight because Judah seems past his best

I'm afraid not mate, and given it's got the makings of the best complete fight card of the year it's a pretty poor display from Sky in my opinion.

Loads of people have been complaining but the general reply seems to be 'We appreciate your comments and will pass them on yaada yaada yaada'..

They must know it's a big fight and they also must know that one or both of them are likely to be facing Ricky Hatton in the near future. It's just a very bad decision.

thats the reason i thought it would be on because of Hatton

Aye..

Had Ricky been ringside or available to co-commentate then it may have been televised, but he's mid training camp and is actually in Boston this weekend.

It's pretty bad when you realise that quite a few European countries are showing it as are Australia. The Australian public interest is on the finest of threads to, with Kostya contemplating either a return at 147 or retirement...

... although he did make Judah dance :p

Most know it as the 'Chicken Dance'... ;) I can't beleive this isn't on box office... all Sky seem to be able to do is ram Ricky Hatton down our throats... it seems that they have about as much boxing knowlodge as your average member of the public... time for some sackings?...

No streaming TV unless it's from the broadcaster website - otherwise it's almost always dodgy.

I believe it was due to an HBO exclusivity contract which counts everyone else out.

Anyway, we knew the result before the fight began. As per usual, Mayweather put on a show once the fight had been taken from Judah in the 5th. I've been quite critical of Mayweather, due to the 'oh so common' tactics of picking sure fights, something every fighter does which is understandable as their is a career to protect. However, p4p credit to Mayweather should only come from clearing divisions, something not many boxers do, preferring instead to follow the path of least resistance. What happened to fighting Barrera at SF? Hatton, Tszyu and Cotto at LW? He's now chasing Mosley, Mayorga and De La Hoya, all fights that favour a strong Mayweather victory.

After hearing ring by ring commentary on other forums about the way the fight went I wouldn't imagine Hatton would be too worried about taking him on. I genuinely believe Hatton would get a UD over Mayweather, scruffy tactics or not.

Anyway, enough fanboism, good result for FMJ; it's a cracking division(s) and I wonder what's coming up next! I know Cotto/Castillo (Castillo UD) will be a cracker later in the year... :D

Great performance from Mayweather yet again and really does show he is in a class of his own IMO. Sure he could have been disqualified because of his trainer jumping into the ring to choke Judah but the fact remains that the fight was allowed to go on and he won an easy UD.

Barrera was not at Superfeather when Mayweather left that division. Barrera only went to featherweight in 2001 at which time Mayweather was already planning his move up to Lightweight.

Cotto v Mayweather was never going to happen because of having the same promoter. Hatton publicly stated that he was not ready to fight him until he had atleast a few fights in the US first. Tszyu quit and hasn't announced anything since Hatton beat him.

Sure he didn't clean up the Light Welterweights (he did pretty much clean up the lightweights though) but when the other belt holders weren't ready to fight then what was he meant to do?

Ok so he hasn't went for Baldomir or Margarito at Welterweight which he should but he hasn't left that division as of yet.

As for Hatton we need to wait and see how he deals with a genuine Welterweight who is pretty slick and quite a bit bigger than him (3" height and 7" reach).
