Recently I've been having issues with my iPhone 6s. The in-line remote, mic and sometimes headphones of my EarPods would stop working.

Also, I use an Apple dock and the slightest touch would interrupt the charging, meaning whenever you tried to change volume it would make the 'ding' noise when you first plug it in. Equally, you could never force the screen off with the side button because you'd end up in a loop of doom, pressing the button would make it start charging again so the screen would come back on…

I thought it was a subliminal message from Apple, convincing me that no headphone jack on the iP7 was the right call after all.

It all came to a head yesterday when I couldn't actually plug my headphones in. I looked down the headphone hole to find it was full of crap. I used a tooth pick to scrape it all out of the headphone and lightning port and now my phone is working perfectly.

It's never been an issue with previous phones - I never thought I had particularly fluffy pockets but apperently I was wrong.

It's pretty gross but at least my phone works now. If you're having similar issues, definitely check for fluff.
