QUOTED :

" The devs at oZone3D have now delivered the first version of FluidMark, a physics benchmark that is based on Nvidia's PhysX engine and measures the physics processing capabilities of CPUs, Ageia cards and graphics cards. The visual portion of the benchmark requires a OpenGL 2.0 compliant graphics card so it will work with GeForce FX/6/7/8/9/GTX200 (and higher), AMD/ATI Radeon 9600+, 1k/2k/3k/4k (and higher) and S3 Graphics Chrome 400 series models.

To run FluidMark you also need the PhysX 8.08.01 or above driver. "

So what do I need to get this to run on an ATI system then?

No idea, the story goes it was some Nvidia employee who got them to run on a ATI card so obv he is well clued up.

Nvidia have offered ATI free use of them but I think they declined and want to go the Havok route (not 100% sure TBH).

"236 with a PhysX card? Wow those cards really do suck dont they compared to GPU PhysX!"
Only if all you want to do is run benchmarks. The GPU might be x5 times faster in 3dmark and faster FluidMark but in games the PhysX card is faster than 1 GPU in the benchmarks we have so far.

Its very entertaining reading about all these people saying the PhysX drivers are great the games are so much faster with the GPU. Yet as little as 6 months ago people were saying the same games with the PPU where slow and the PPU slowed down the very same games. Yet in benchmarks the games with a 1 GPU and PPU show the PPU as faster.
It's also entertaining reading how people are impressed with the effects, yet the very same effects on the PPU where poor and unimpressive. Isnt it strange how the reviews change there minds. Just compare the new GRAW 2 reviews on the GPU to the old PPU reviews. Its shocking, the very same effects as well.

It just shows how bias people where being against the PPU. All this stuff on the GPU could have been done over 2 years ago with the PPU.

Not me Sir, I still don't think the effects look great/real.

I am happy to get something freely on a GPU I already own not by buying a Dedi PPU, and back 2 years ago the games slowed down when you turned on PhysX.

Its a start and no doubt it's here to stay. :)
