Fluorinert FC-770 info?

Its an excellent product how ever there are loads of thing you need to taking into account.

1) Its 2x heaver than water
2) Its more viscus
3) you need pumps that are heaver and harder than normal water cooling pumps.
4) Its between £70 to £140 a kilo - 1 Kilo is 1/2 a Ltr approx
5) Its more suited to copper hard tubing
6) Its not a s good as Water or water based coolants for removing heat
7) You need a breather in the system as it can expand 2 fold once it starts to warm up.

there is more info as well but i dont have time to type it all up. do you research before using and buying.

1) Could a MCP35x pump this?
2) I think I read that it permeates through tubing? is that bad
3) I thought it was better for removing heat... :l
4) a 'breather'? is that extra space in the res?
5) Would I need to put any additives in?
6) Is it compatible with any dyes?
7) If I wanted to use normal coolants in my system after, how do I go about cleaning the loop?

I can't find much information from people with first hand experience with the coolant. If you have any links, it'd be much appreciated

I was just reading about its use on the cray 2. It has a much lower boiling point then water so I guess that could be useful in heat transfer

minor trivia it was the 'liquid air' used in The Abyss, I thought that idea was made up

You might want to ask on xtremesystems.org/forums
