Flush fit wheel valves

Has anyone ever fitted these before?

I used to have the shiny alloy valves on my MR2 but after the 5th set got nicked by the local kids on BMXs I gave up. Now I've just got black plastic caps but I thought these might smarten up the wheels without ending up on some kids bike.

Are there any disadvantages other than the price?

I'm not bothered about taking the tyres off, I need new fronts soon anyway so I'll just do it at the same time as that.
