I've just downloaded 'The Wolfman' off YouTube in 6 parts (I missed it on TV last week) but I want to convert them to a user-friendly format such as .avi or .wmv etc. I've Google'd, but all the software want money which I'm not prepared to pay for because I'm only gonna use it once. There are freewares I think but past experience tells me they will either be watermarked or restricted in some way. So does anyone know of any .flv converters? I preferably need to get this converted tonight. Thanks in advance.

Youtube isn't the best place to do your illegal downloads, for security or quality. :p

Virtualdub will convert to avi using divx/xvid/h.264 for free.

Well I wouldn't think it would be illegal because there's a law that protects us from sharing aired media (can't remember what exactly, but I read it somewhere). Besides, it's the equivalent of me recording for personal use so I don't see why people get so over dramatic about downloading TV shows. And I wouldn't expect the one-off documentary to be Torrent'ed (and it's not) and YouTube was the only place that had it. I don't really care about the quality so long as I can re-watch it.

And thanks for the help guys. I actually stumbled across a site which lets me convert remotely so I don't need to download third-party software: http://w4.media-convert.com/ :)
