Decided to take a few shots of the full moon tonight and was a case of right place at the right time! :)

Edit - Oh shutter speed very much played a part in this one so if there is a mod around that can delete the thread please do and I'll enter it in the competition instead.

Yeah I did capture Mars about it in another shot but that needed a much longer exposure for it to show which washed out the moon details. Let me see if I can dig it out.

AH, I used the 55-250 STM, which is turning out to be a bit of a bargain / jack of all trades. Picture is very cropped though.

Dannyjo, well I guess it didn't' really play a part in terms of arranging the composition at all, so I wasn't going for blurry long shutter or freeze frame ultra fast. And the plane, that was just huge luck to have crossed it at that time.

Shutter was about getting the right exposure, I couldn't rely on the light meter to do this, so it wasn't a case of checking the exposure level indicator and shooting, I had to vary the shutter and check the results until I could see the details on the moon rather than just a white blob. Took me about 20 shots to get it right.

Next time though I will probably know that with this lens at f/8, ISO 100, 1/40 shutter will be the sweet spot in which case it won't play a part at all.

From the compo point of view, I guess it's debatable, happy to remove it or simply ask people not to vote if they don't think it applies, just a bit of fun after all :)
