Is anyone else having trouble with their fly killer spray this year? We have two different ones and neither seem to be killing any flies.

Earlier in the year they both managed to kill off the first few wasps that arrived but the current batch of flies seem immune.

Andi.

Maybe it'd be easier to find the source of the flies? We don't get many, not enough to warrant the stench of fly-spray anyway!

Are you leaving jars of honey open by open windows?

Any corpses left unrefrigerated?

No the dead meat is kept frozen apart from what the cats get ;) and that gets eaten or taken away as soon as we see it.

It isn't many flies, one or two maybe but they just won't die when sprayed. We have those sticky fly killer pads on each window and they are fairly new but still the odd fly walks on them and keeps flying around.

It's the end, they flies have adapted! Grab the object to your left and head away from fly population centres like your life depends upon it!

To be honest I would rather have a few flies get in every so often than spray poison into the air I breath

1 or 2 flies? To be honest, I think you just need to accept the fact that we live on a glorious planet absolutely teeming with life, the occasional uninvited guest is to be expected!

The right side of my house seems to be a haven for flies recently for some reason, there's always about 10-15 bluebottles when I wander round there. Time to electrify my windows in some fashion I think.

Spraying only stuns them, you are supposed to hit them with the can afterwards.

Are you sure they are not Queen wasps? You may need to use fire.

Man up and catch them in a glass and release outside!
It really isn't that difficult or time consuming, I must have released a good half dozen so far this year! (I share the loft with a few wasp nests :-/ )

I've never had that many problems with flies.

A quick squirt or two of raid has them breakdancing on the nearest flat surface in seconds.

These chappies keep my flying insect population at bay.

Get one of those electric racket things! Brilliant when they crackle and explode!

Also good fun for all the nosey people who come around my desk and ask what it is (must make it look different as word spreads fast)

+1

i cant find mine after a house move. they work too well on big spiders too, even though they sometimes burst into flames!

10-15? I'd call that an infestation. Are there mice in the walls?

I use a can of raid - no idea how old it is - and it kills anything that flies very fast.
