Hi,

Can i fly inside the UK (Scotland to England) via Flybe, and give them my driving licence as proof of ID? My passport has gone out of date 3 days before i need to fly and i need to know weather i should still book the flights or not! :(

Many Thanks

For a domestic flight FlyBe are very relaxed in what they'll take. I've been flying regularly using my work's ID badge for years.

Domestic/Republic of Ireland travel

All passengers, adults, children and infants, travelling to the Republic of Ireland must have a form of ID which proves their nationality/citizenship for immigration purposes.
•A valid passport
•An expired passport (domestic flights only up to two years after expiry)
•Valid photographic EU or Swiss national identity card
•Valid photographic driving licence
•Valid armed forces identity card
•Valid police warrant card/badge
•Valid airport employees security identity pass
•A child on parent’ s passport is an acceptable form of ID
•CitizenCard
•Valid photographic firearm certificate
•Valid Government-issued identity card
•SMART card
•Electoral identity card
•Photographic disabled badge
•NUS card photographic (National Union of Students)
•Photographic university/college ID card
•Company ID card of nationally recognised company (photographic)
•Council issued bus pass (senior citizens only)
•Pension book (the only acceptable form of non-photographic identification)
•Young Scot card

I'd imagine it would be down to the organisation, heck even the individual checking it where pubs are concerned.

Realistically, someone who looks young enough to get asked for ID probably looks fairly different from a 10+ year old passport photo in any case so I wouldn't want to chance it if it was important.

Cheers HangTime. I had my passport renewed at 24 and 34 (now), so yes my picture will be considerably different 10 years apart. I still get carded frequently, so had to renew it really even if I've not been abroad since 2008 and not considering another trip any time soon.
