Going to Morocco in December, via Paris CDG (urghhhh), only have like 90mins to make the connection....eek

I will try to take carry on only but if I do check in a bag, which will just be cheap clothes in it...do they move the check bags to the other plane for me? It's bought as a single ticket.

I think the answer is yes....but I want to double check.

Thanks

Haven't you traveled loads before Raymond?!

Seems like quite a basic question for you.

But a) 90 mins is an age for connections. Something under an hour, then maybe you have something to worry about (depending on the route/airport)
b) yes they check the bag through to the final destination.

Done a lot of connections for long haul as they always come out cheaper - your baggage gets moved to next flight automatically and should the first flight be running late, they'll generally speed you through the airport to the next plane or book you to next available if you miss it.

Remember arriving to Hong Kong with a connection to Fiji, we had a 2 hour connection but incoming flight was quite late. Upon landing we were called by name, let off the plane first, met by a member of staff who rushed us through to the next plane via cart, train and another cart and after taking our seats, were taking off almost immediately.

I have almost ALWAYS done direct, longest is to Singapore and that was direct...Taiwan was a connection but a 3hr one....i know the answer is yes....just double checking.

On the way back is 1hr though lol, but I am less concerned about that as it is on the way back.

I should really know this because my first time ever flying with connection to a small town in America I went to baggage claim in Chicago (I asked someone and they told me I need to collect my bags!). Of course I didn't need to and then need to go through security again.

This doesn't help you - except to add a note of caution.

Contrary to what has been written above, I have definitely had occasions where luggage was not transferred from plane to plane for you. You were required to collect it, and check it back in.

However, I can't remember / didn't know what the criteria was that made that difference, sorry. One thing that should help - there was definitely an announcement on the plane as we were arriving telling people that they would need to do this themselves. So it shouldn't be possible for it to sneak up on you.

I’ve been travelling around the world for 15 years, and Miami was the only airport I experienced the needed do that in, pretty sure that’s not the case now.

And 1 hour is still fine For short haul flights.

That could be the deciding factor - the airport itself.

I feel like I've heard that announcement on the plane when flying into Amsterdam - but contingent on which terminal you were flying into, and which one you were going to be flying out of. (i.e it was only if you were switching terminals.)

And, now I think about it, I think I heard it when I flew into Florida earlier this year (but I was stopping there, so didn't pay much attention).

You and baggage should be checked through all the way. Contrary to the above though the exception (there may be others but not that I know of) to this is when you travel to the US (international) and then connect to a domestic, in that scenario you absolutely have to pick up your baggage and check it back in again.

That's what I did! that's what they guy told me but i didn't have to. To and back.

I remember almost missing my connection because having to go through security again.

I've always tried to avoid checked luggage personally - not happened to me but far too many instances of people having it go missing or extremely delayed.

It’ll be fine. Only time my bags missed is when I went from Kathmandu and the flight was delayed due to weather.

Got in to Dubai and sprinted off the plane and just made! It was with flydubai, as we landed the cabin crew girl came up and said you need to leave pronto to make your emirates connection. Anyway, about an hour into the emirates flight to the UK I was informed by one of the girls and my bags didn’t make the flight and had to fill in a form and they’d be delivered to the house.

Which was actually great as I was able to just get off the plane and walk out the airport and get home. Otherway around wouldhave been a bloody disaster!

TL:DR - You’ll be fine.
