hi

can anyone recommend me some FM Aerials
i bought some ribbon stuff from my local hi fi store and tbh there not much butter than the standard ones ive got and thats all they seem to stock

Hmmm... Not sure they get that great unless you buy a proper roof aerial. But I'm no expert :)
 
I use one of those large 20" round omni directional FM aerials.

You local aerial companies should be able to supply something suitable, either on the roof or in the loft.
The omni directional is OK in very strong areas, and when you want to pick up lots of stations, but has low gain. A directional design will give strong signal gain and better sound. Something around 3 to 6 element is normally enough.
 
I've given up trying to get decent FM reception. I had one of those circular aerials fitted, along with a new TV aerial and a masthead amp that combines the two signals - still rubbish.

I now use freeview boxes for listening to radio - perfect reception.
