FM2008 Crash at 5th December 2009... help!

Hi all,

Just got to a stage in the season of FM 5th December 2009 and it crashes with a error dumb and the game closes. I have the latest patch installed (8.0.1) but still no difference.

Had a look around on google, seems to be a common problem but no one explains how do sort it.

Can anyone help?

This was meant to be fixed in the 8.0.1 patch. If you have this patch installed but maybe started your game before you installed the patch then it could be the database itself is the problem rather than the game. Could be a case of starting again, although since you're that far in I'd look around first for more help (maybe post on the official SI Games forum) before starting a new game.

This happened to me in 2007, had to restart. I've not made it that far in 2008 yet (only just got it)

Try reinstalling the game, just make sure you don't delete your game save.

i found this on earlier versions of football manager and found the way around it was to prevent whatever event that was happening occuring. so if you're about to sign a player, do not sign that player, for example. if you can't circumvent the "event" then your screwed i'm afraid
