Hopefully a quick one here, but during a match my touchline shout button has disappeared.

All i have is the substitute and formation buttons at the top left.

How do i get the touchline shout button back?.

Thanks

Sounds to me as though at some point you've converted your Normal tactic to a "Classic" tactic. They don't allow for touchline shouts because it's based on the more primitive way of doing things from older FM versions. Classic tactics are only in the game to keep the old-schoolers [read: luddites ;) ] happy, essentially.

If you don't know what I'm on about, look at your Tactics screen, at the formation on the right hand side. If you can't assign player roles - e.g. Ball Winning Midfielder (Support/Defend) - underneath the player names, but there are arrows going up/down from player positions, then you've somehow converted your current tactic to a Classic one.

You can't convert a Classic tactic [back] to a Normal tactic; you'd need to reload the "pre-conversion" Normal tactic from your saved tactics/most recent tactics.

Ahhhh, you know that sounds bang on! - Will have to have a look when i get home.

I never even realised you could do that :(

I'll have a look when i get home, many thanks!

Out of curiosity, how do you think i would have done that? - Converting to a 'classic' tactic?.

Going by FM2012, the only way of converting to a Classic Tactic is by selecting "Convert to Classic..." from the Options menu underneath your tactic's Familiarity progress bar, on your squad's Tactics screen.

I don't know if 2013's any different, but in 2012 you get a dialog box pop up if you choose that option which explains the difference between Normal and Classic tactics and asks for confirmation that you want to proceed. It's probably not something you can do accidentally unless you're in full-on "yeah yeah yeah, whatever *click*" mode :D
