FN Button Woes

My girlfriend recently got a laptop. However some of the keys have numbers and other characters behind them, where letters L and K are for example.. Stupidly enough yo uneed to hold the FN key to get the letters to appear instead of the Sub Selection.. if you get me? How do i turn the damn FN key off?

I'm not sure if you can turn it off. Its standard on most laptops.

I think he means the key's function is essentially back to front.

L & K... are you sure it's not number lock?
The bios is the first place I'd be looking.

To me, it should be hold FN to use the sub keys which are numbers and other functions.. But I got to hold the FN key to type normal letters

Turn the numlock off. Try FN+F11
