Not really, they ran 900bph - 1000bhp in the race so 10 times what we are talking about here. Put them on pump fuel that would be say 700bhp and the basis of the engine was a 2L 4 cylinder block from a road car. In the last 25 years engine management and component technologies have evolved massively so seeing a road car 1L with 100bhp is not that special really, that is my point.
Garden shed mechanics have been building 1.0l cars with 3x the power of this Ford engine for the last 20+ years. Still, its nice to see Ford catching up.
