My dad and I were going over my focus as I've got the MOT due on Thursday. We noticed when checking the lights that there's something funny with the parking lights. No matter what we did we could not get them to come on at all. Eventually we thought maybe a fuse was blown so looked it up on the manual and opened up the fuse box. There was no fuse in place (#14) and more than that, there doesn't seem to physically be a way to insert a fuse in that spot.

Am I missing something here? I thought maybe that the parking light feature was something available on other models but not my Zetec, but then why is there no way to put a fuse in? Is the parking light symbol on my light switch a feature I should ignore as my car doesn't have it? Thoroughly confused here. Can anyone shine some light on this? :p

Lastly, is this a MOT failure?

If you mean the option on the switch to leave the sidelights on without having the reminder alarm/chirp thing going off, then no, it's not an MOT failure.

I presume the sidelights work normally however?

Just worked it out. Problem was I wasn't taking the keys out after turning the parking lights on. :D Thanks guys.
