After much research I took the plunge & purchased the AUX/Line in cable for the 6000CD HU in my Focus Mk2 (2005). I managed to get it all plumbed in ok (including taking out the glovebox lining and drilling a hole for the aux socked to go in) but there's a strange problem whwn I try & use it.
Basically if I plug in my iPod/CD player the music sounds 'echoey' - kind of like when you pull a headphone lead ever-so slightly out of its' socket but I noticed as soon as I plugged the car charger for the iPod into the dock connector the sound became perfect. Further investigation found that merely touching the outer metal ring of the 12V socket with the tip of the car charger was enough for the sound to be perfect.
To me it sounds like a grounding issue but the lead & everything else are all ford parts and I've searched on google and FFOC forums & no-one else seems to have the same issue
Any ideas?
