With impeccable timing (Christmas round the corner etc) the Power Steering on my '55 Focus Zetec (Mk2) has decided to go south (again). Oddly it'd been fine on the 120-mile round-trip to London yesterday and today, and yet fails on the routine 1.5 mile trip round to see my folks (why does it happen like that?!)
Some with longish memories (particularly pinkaardvark if he's still around?!) might remember that it previously went breasts-up almost exactly two years ago. Same symptoms; really bad whining noise when turning the wheel which changes with revs and fluid in the bottom of the engine bay. Is this a common fault with Focuses?!
