I just wondered if anybody here with a Mk2 Focus could let me know if their temperature gauge wanders about when the car's fully warmed?
My mum's TDCi Focus is doing exactly this, when you accelerate, the gauge drops back to below 1/4 and then back up to just below the centre... which I don't think is normal behavior for a car!
Took it in to Ford on Monday and they replaced the coolant temperature sensor, but the problem is still there - so it was booked back in for today. This morning I went out with the foreman of the garage with a data logger connected, which showed the engine coolant was at normal temperature, but the gauge was moving all over the place.
He seemed to think that he wouldn't worry about it and that a bit of fluctuation was 'normal'. I'm not happy with that, and I've been in Focii
