Hey guys my dad is going to buy a new car 06 plate, he likes the looks of the Focus Zetec Climate 2.0l

Anyone here got 1?

Whats the mpg like? in the book it says 0-60 in 9.2sec but it's imo that the book for cars is always a bit wrong (as in slower) also says top speed is 128 :/ to me that seems poor for a 2L zetec

Anyway he does school trips and such, to me they look fairly spacious for a 5 and 8yr old in the back. Are they as comfortable as people say? my dad has always liked a bit of vooomph when he puts his foot down do u rekon he will be happy with this car?

it is a 2.0L engine

2.0 Duratec Petrol
1999 cc 4 cylinders in line; DOHC; 16 valves; variable intake system; alloy cylinder head and block; electronic multipoint fuel injection

dont seem to bad and tbh why would you want more than 90mph top end tbh anyway :P you wont use the 128mph topend, (.2 secs to 60 well i expect it needs 3rd gear indicating another shift thus slowing the 0-60 down.

i wouldn't want to do 128 :P just saying it seems low. what u sau makes sence why 0-60 a bit slow cheers

So is this car a nice ride?

yep as said its only a 2.0l focus not a space ship, and nto a sporty model at that, so i wouldnt expect it to go "fast"

Foci in general are good cars.

They have a lot of room, are confortable to drive and are responsive both on the throttle and the steering wheel.

It's not a hot hatch/boy racer mobile, but it will be a rewarding drive for most folks and ideal as a family car.

Got a new Focus here, got the Ghia, cracking cars, i get about 32mpg, but ive got the 1.6 though. :)

Only thing i don't like is when you switch off, the Stereo and the Trip computer stay lit for about 15 minutes before going out, bloody draws attention to it.

ask yourself this do you really want a car that is the same as every other one on the road

the other side would be do you want a car which drives well, is reliable and practical?

As anything less on an empty motorway seems stupidly slow, and I wouldn't want to be driving at 100% of my cars output all the time if it was geared for 90mph in 5th gear.
