Folder gone missing.

Hello, my 11 month old likes to press the buttons on my laptop and i seen the baby photo folder disappear from the desktop when he was doing this.

Checked the recycle bin and nothing in there, check all folders and done a 'search' for it. Downloaded a few data recovery programs and cannot find anything.

What could he have done?

My laptop is empty, nothing on it other than that folder, google chrome and a few other photos of cars, so really not sure why i cannot find where this baby folder has gone.

Any idea guys? Thanks
 
Might be worth downloading something like treesize or windirstat to see if you can find it. If it was all photos it should come up on there.

Unlikely series of events but could've shift deleted and then also accepted the confirm dialogue?
 
Thanks @UnworthyBean but i still could not find the files on either. Been through about 15 different programs now and they are all just bringing up the same files.

A few years ago i did something similar and found a program that made a boot disk that recovered all the files that hadn't been re-written over. Dont suppose you know what this program was called? Thanks
 
I think I'd still try previous versions/shadow copies first even with veeam installed though- it's just so handy.
