The problem is when I open a folder, it will open the folder in a new explorer window, how do I stop this?

I think it is to do with the file types in folder option being wrong. Any ideas?

In explorer goto Tool -> Options -> Browse Folders and select the "Open each folder in the same window"

That setting is already correct, I think I have to add a parameter to the open command in File Types for folders.

If I open the properties for File Type - Folder it has explore and open as actions and "confirm open after download" tick box checked. What does your have?

Ok this problem still persists!

The problem is, that the file type action is set to run the open command with explorer.exe, so obviously a new explorer command will be used.

I need to know the registry key for .folder I think and what command is used to run it.

Hit your keyboard a few times. (really!) either of your CTRL keys may be stuck.

Turn off the option in folder preference for open windows in new process.
