Folder permissions

I want to edit a system folder but when I go to save it says that I am not allowed to save this as I don not have permission.

I try to change the security settings to allow me permission but it won't allow me to do this either.

Any suggestions on how I can give myself permission to save files here?

Have you taken ownership of the folder?

I got it to work eventually. It wouldn't let me save if I went to file, save as etc but when I went to exit notepad and I was given the prompt do I want to save, it allowed me to save.

To save to system folders etc you usually need to open Notepad as Administrator.
