Before I begin please forgive me my MAC knowledge is limited.

I have a folder with a large number of sub directories and files and the permissions on these files and folder seem to be very mixed. I would like to remove all permissions then reapply at a top level and propagate down.

What is the best way to do this without doing through ever folder individually?

Go to the top folder > right click > get info > set your permissions as you want them > then click the settings wheel below and click 'apply to enclosed items'. Can take a while if there are lots of files.

Settings & Permissions is at the bottom of the getinfo window. May need to unlock the padlock then as above ^

Will this also remove any additional permissions on the subfolders that differ from the top level?
