Folder shares and accesssing - advice please

If a pc has the whole of c drive set as a share - c$ and another pc was to access it over a network with the admin password, would the user of the pc being accessed be totally unaware that their c drive was being read?

Is there any traceability to find out who has been accessing the c drive?

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, they are unaware.

Depends, in vista if you right click my computer and select manage you can bring up shared folders and the "open files"
