I have 3 pcs on this network, 2 have windows 10, 1 has windows 7. I have a sub to nordvpn and use their application to connect to the vpn.

I have a small issue with file sharing though. When connected to the vpn, the windows 7 pc stops showing up in the network tab, so I can't browse it's shared folders. If it's connected on one of the win10 pc, the 7 machine stops showing up for that pc only, the other pc on 10 can still see it. If the vpn is connected on the pc with 7, then no pc can see it.

The issue doesn't effect the two on 10, they can always see each other, only the 7 pc has the issue. The other thing is, it doesn't actually seem to to be gone, adding one of the shared folders as network drive and you can access it no problem. It's just not showing up under "network" when the vpn is connected.

Any idea why? Mapping the drive is a quick work around, but I have more than one folder shared, so it will get messy if I start mapping them all.

When your Windows 7 computer is dialling up the VPN connection it takes on a LAN address from the VPN service. This is what is causing you the abnormality. (Note not problem as this is expected behaviour).
