hi, im using xp pro on a p4 2.4 with 512 meg of ram in a dell dimension 4550.

to cut a long story short, i ripped some digitally protected wma files and some non-protected files from a cd and put them into a folder on my desktop and now the folder wont delete.

afterwards i deleted the folder, but when i turn the computer back on, the folder reappears but with nothing in it. system restore doesnt get rid of the problem and when i go to the folders properties, it has a green block in the 'read only' check thing. unchecking this and then deleting the folder still makes it reappear after a restart.

does anyone think they can help or know how to get rid of this problem?

all help is appreciated. thanks.

The folder may be in use with another program?

Any warnings when you try to delete?

Try running spybot to clean your system and then delete.

use unlocker as suggested above, its the best for local locked files

also, turn off system restore, its REALLY crap and slows your pc down!, let alone fragmenting your hard drive and taking up a ton of space

id never turn of system restore. Its probably one of the best featuires of XP. Its saved my bacon a few times from dogey drivers and software.

By all means reduce the sapce it uses but i'd never recommend turning it off.
