------------------------------

Hey all, down a little again, come on, now's the time to be using folding to heat your homes! :D

I've been getting a lot of 10632 GPU3 work units only getting 10K on my 460s :(

Biffa 1mil in a week! :eek::cool:

And welcome to the new guys :)

MSE with ad aware here and malwarebytes scans every now and then for good measure.

I don't use anything on my windows home server folding rig though, should I be? I mean if no one is browsing the internet on it, and no executables are run on it, is there any risk?

It depends, how did you get the F@H software on to it? Directly or via another pc on your network? What happens if another PC gets infected in your network and has an unprotected PC at its mercy?
Are you 100% sure it's protected by your firewall and there aren't any ports open and visible?

I'd not take the risk given the number of free packages around that are very lightweight. this is why I use MSE on my folder rigs.

I didn't think of that, and some ports are open for some of the WHS remote functions. I'll install it when I get home :o

Thanks

Nice Biffa, do you have a target in your head for what next big tiffy you're aiming for?

My goal has been 10mil for a while now, getting there slowly.

I've been getting screwed over all week with crappy P10632 units, dropped my PPD down 10K :mad:

That's a lot lower than I expected, it might actually make it better value in the long run.

Doh! Just got home to find both my 460s doing nothing because I left a virtual machine running on my other rig which I completely forgot had a DHCP server running on it, the folding rig renewed it's IP and joined an imaginary network and couldn't get any more work :(
