Could anyone give me a hand?

I'm very new to folding on the PC.
Right now it's running on medium. The cpu and gpu are both working.
cpu is at 56 and gpu at 67 degrees.

But the PC in noticeably choppy.
If I slide down to light work. The gpu pauses while only the cpu works. But I'd rather the gpu run than the cpu if anything.

How can I stop the stutter while folding? I'd like to tone it down while I'm using if it's possible.
Also, is all the folding being tracked? Would be nice to check what's being done, so I know nothing is being lost or wasted.

cpu - i5 3670k
gpu - gtx 970

Radec, l would remove the CPU slot if l were you. Go to Advanced Control->Configure->Slots and remove the cpu slot. Folding only on the GPU will surely make the PC feel more responsive.

I went into the config and reduced the cores for my cpu from -1 to 2 earlier, but it still stutters.
I left it on anyway, while a ran out.

Just got back and the gpu project was just finishing. When that was done, I set it to light so just the cpu is running, and the pc seems to be running smooth again.

Doesn't this point to the gpu causing the stutter?

Also, since the gpu finished a project, I can't find any info anywhere saying that it was complete or anything. And it says I have 0 points.

Yep, things using GPU acceleration would be affected by folding. But with a fast CPU and some tweaking, it's possible to do things on the folder while it's doing its thing, if you want to. Glad you got it sorted to your preferences. :)
